Went to the all ford show today. It's held at the Ford Dealership. This was there best turnout ever (255 cars). The category that the Maverick & Comet is in: "1960 to 2009 Ford/Mercury" (49 years of cars). 3rd place: 72 Ford Maverick (David) 2nd place: 67 Ford Fairlane 1st place: 73 Mercury Comet (Coop) We made a pretty good showing in the 49 years that were represented. We are finally getting recognition. Here's some pics, enjoy!
My friend Ray's 62 Falcon 302 cu in. For you Pinto people, a 74 Ford Pinto 302 cu in (Comet Tail lights) thanks to me....LOL One of my favorites: 49 Lincoln (chopped) A nice 69 Ford Torino Talledaga
There was about 30 classes for the Mustangs. And 10 other classes covering everything else....Do you think it was put on by a Mustang club?
Thanks for the pics...I used to live in Kent, and they brought back good memories... It was a beautiful area. By the way...Great looking cars
Congrats!!! I've put my car in Mustang/Ford shows several times too. You're right, a million classes for the Mustangs but it doesn't matter. Our cars usually get as much or more attention than most of the Mustangs out there because of how few of us there are. I'm usually in a class called FSI (Ford Special Interest). I'm always grouped with anything NOT a Mustang including Falcons, Fairlanes, Torinos, F100s...you get the picture. But I generally do well so all is great. It's just a pain waiting for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for them to give out all the Mustang awards because my class is always called last. Oh well...I still have a great time when I go anyway. Congrats again on the awards guys!!!
Most Ford shows here are Mustangs...and..."Other Cars We Think Ford Made." Mercury's have to prove they belong to the Ford family to even be let in.
Congrats Coop and Dave! Way to represent the Maverick/Comets out there/here/everywhere. Truely a nice car Coop.
