Hello There Maverick Community, I am a member on a couple of other forums, but searched this one out because I am looking for Maverick information. My very first car was a 1974 Maverick. I purchased the car when I turned 16 back in 1982 and sold it when I went to college in 1984. . I am in the process of compiling information on all of the vehicles that I have owned, with pictures and options that were available etc. When I was 16-17, I did not take many pictures and as far as I know, I don’t have any pictures of my actual car. If any one here has a similar car and wouldn’t mine sharing a picture or two and some model information, I would appreciate it. This is what I remember off the top of my head about my car: 1974 Ford Maverick 2 Door Inline 6 3 Speed on the Tree Dark Green (What was the actual color name?) No vinyl roof cover Everything was stock when I owned it, except for the High Flow Glass Pack Muffler, K-Mart stereo and 100w amp in the glove box. I have loved every car that I owned for one reason or another, but the Maverick has a special place in my heart being my first. I didn’t even know how to drive stick when I picked it up, had to learn on the way home (sorry clutch). Once I finish with my Maverick information, here are some of the other cars that I have had the pleasure of owning and driving: 1969 Ford Falcon Station Wagon 1986 Pontiac 6000 LE 1988 Pontiac Sunbird Turbo GT 1992 Pontiac Grand Am 1976 Dodge Dart Swinger 1996 Ford Explorer 1998 Ford Explorer 1998 Toyota Camry 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Pick Up 1994 Ford Bronco (Current Winter Beater) 2004 Toyota Highlander (Current Wife’s Ride) My current ride = 2005 Pontiac GTO: Thank you for your time. Scott
Welcome to the board. That's quite a collection of cars and trucks you've had over the years. A friend of ours has one of those GTO's and he loves it. If you take a look through the gallery you just might find a picture or two of some Mavericks like the one you once had. I believe the color of your old Mverick may have been called Dark Green Poly.
Thanks, How original, Dark Green. I spent a couple of hours looking through the galleries, I found a few, below is pretty close to what mine looked like.
I know what you mean! The 1974 Maverick has always had a special place in my heart to. I have owned 3 of them and one was a dark green 4 door with a 250 6cyl automatic, power steering and AM radio. It was a great car, I used it everyday for work for many years.
