OK, the new dizzy and box and in and it fired right up ! However, now my tach is not working. Is there any other way to wire it rather than the - side of the coil ? All I did was change dizzys and installed the 6al box. Thoughts ?

I thought the 6al had a tach driver wire?

Is that the spade fitting on the end ? I bought this sans instructions and used the MSD site for help. So, the tach is driven from the box with the one fitting ? I suppose that takes the place of the - side of the coil if so. Do I just use a spade female fitting for this ? Thanks, Scott

Yes just use a spade female fitting and plug it in, instructions do say some tachs may not work with the 6al though, but I have not found any that wont work with it.

MSD has a list of tachs and what works with box or if you will need a tach adapter. If you need a tach adapter, I have a brand new one an save you some $$

Tach wired right up. Another benefit I see to the MSD is losing even more wires under the hood! I have moved the starter solenoid to the trunk, one-wire alternator and now I only have the two wires from the 6al to the coil and the Tach wire stays in the car! I love the cleaner lok. FYI: I mounted the box under the package tray.

Good choice on the location. The first thing on the instructions say mount it away from heat. Too many people mount them under the hood on a street car. To me this is a hot place to be mounting them. After the car is shut down the air is not moving under the hood. Be sure to you are feeding the box with 12v and not through the factory Pink resistor wire from the ignition switch.

Watch the polarity to distributor an wires should be twisted together and away from all other wires
