Can a Maverick pull a trailer with a Maverick ?

    No...but the factory did.

    Being a "frame" car.....it is pretty stout to begin with. The factory put a larger radiator on it, external tranny cooler, auxilliary gas tank (7 gallons I think), 4 wheel disc brakes, locking differential, and a factory hitch receiver that is bolted directly to the frame. It is rated to tow up to 7000 pounds....but I think that would be a struggle.

    I did add a brake controller to it and I use a weight distribution hitch.

    As Dennis stated....NO WAY would a Maverick frame handle the load of a trailer. A Maverick rear frame rail is nothing but sheet metal bent in the shape of a frame.

    Stefan, I may be overly cautious, but I wouldn't use a unibody car to tow a car on a trailer unless you made some major modifications.

    I know the non-wagon Fairlane was unibody; is the wagon one as well?

    The only thing I use my hitch for is a cargo hauler. i agree anthing over 1000 lbs would be pushing it.

    Agreed.Yes,the wagon is unibody too Hawkco.You should always try to pull w/a full frame vehicle.It's nice(but not an absolute nessesity)if your tow vehicle is as heavy or heavier than what you're towing.Makes things a bit more stable under speed and if you have a blowout on the trailer a heavier tow vehicle could be the difference between gettin' it under control or gettin' in a painful(physically and/or financally)situation.
