The Woodward Dream Cruise | Presented by EATON | Classic Cars, Hot Rods, Muscl

The cruise is officially on Saturday Aug 16. But there are thousands of cruisers on Friday night the 15 and on Sunday the 17. Check out the web site link above.

The Woodward Dream Cruise has over 1 million visitors and 40,000 classic cars, street rods, custom cars, special interest cars and muscle cars. It is in the cushy suburbs of Detroit (north of 8 mile to Pontiac) about 16 miles of cruising. The heart of it is in Royal Oak, the funnest city on the Avenue. Woodward is divided with turn arounds and is 4 or 5 lanes wide North and South.

There are special rules for classic cars (certain lanes) and lanes for regular cars. It is a great time and a huge party. Lots of music and exhibits. Maybe we all bring those 14 channel VHF radio's that cost $20 to keep the brigade in line. For those around on Sunday we can go to a nearby track if interested in getting some time slips.

I offer myself to orgainize a Maverick/Comet brigade, set up a meeting time and place and set up meal/refreshment breaks. If you are interested get me your email, and if we get 10+/- I will set it up.

Send me your info to gdemopesq@aol.com and I will start an address book for further information.

Hello Earl. Actually, you and I met up (Dale Mav77), and it was fun.

gdemopesq (Greg), thanks for the posting. I'll send you an e-mail and see if we can get a lot of Maverick and Comet people to show up.

I will be there, but without the Mav, since it's dead. :)

I'll be with my dad in his '74 Caprice convertible, at the far north end of Woodward. He's got a spot at a gas station there where he parks with some of his car club buddies. It's farther from the main action, but there is still plenty to see and at least the cars move up there! ;)

    Hello Mark.

This location on Woodward is great! I have gone to this area before. I believe that is a Mobil gas station, on Woodward and Square Lake, and there is a shopping center near the gas station that is a good place to park, and there is a stoplight where one can get a good look at the cars. I got the name and address from mapquest for the nearby shopping center. It is Kingwoods Plaza Shopping Center, at 43097 Woodward. Hope to see you and everybody else there.

It is a place to go to at least once (and then again and again...) Hope you see you at Somerset one of these times.
