    What type of vacuum advance came stock on a 70 mav I6 auto with A/C? Double or Single?

    According to Chilton's all 70-77 were equipped with dual advance.

    Ford changed to dual advance in 1968. Some of these models have dual diaphragm vacuum advance. All 73-up use a single diaphragm vacuum advance. The dual advance has two independently operated spark timing control systems. A governor type (weights) and a vacuum type. A single advance as one or the other

    Ok I found my old one, it has two vacuum hose nipples, so would i be safe to venture that it is a double?:huh:

    The front port is vacuum advance...the rear port is to retard the timing. The other "advance" that makes it a "dual advance" is inside the distributor under the points.
