I extended an invitation to the Roundup to Frank Druise-owner of the Fast Eddie Schartman Maverick-Boss 429 powered. Frank was kind enough to call me and we ended up chatting online last night. He is also working on the 'Stripper II'. This was the straight from Ford factory experimental car that ran a Boss 302. It has an 'X' in the serial number/VIN indicating 'experimental'. He is not going to be able to make the Roundup. He is concentrating on restoring the Boss powered Maverick. Apparently Ford released the Maverick body to a race contractor who converted it for drag racing using the Boss 302. Don't get any rumors started-it did not come from the factory with a Boss '2 engine. The 'X' in the VIN is what makes that car unique. I will have some pics later to hopefully post for you. Seth
My '69.5 be experimental to then. 0X91T... I'm pretty sure it actually means the body was built at the Canada plant. Sounds cool. Pics would be awesome.
Jamie, since you bought that car from Frank, the X stands for the unknown exponent about that car. How many license plates are on this one?
Believe it or not, none! I'll never forget that. Laying under that car... "You not gonna believe this... theres license plates under here!" Sorry Seth. Back to your thread... I guess he's right if the X is where the engine is.
