Welcome to the board. One of my Mavericks has a vinyl top. When we replaced it there was no rust at all under the old top. I guess that's pretty rare for this part of the rust belt. Whether you want to replace the top or do away with it all together is your call. I personally think Mavericks look good either way. Post some pics when you can.
