My current problem is this: I am putting on a Petronix Ignitor kit and a flame thrower coil in an attempt to increase my mileage. But-- I have to remove or bypass the resistance wiring in the running circuit since the Flame thrower coil is internally resisted. I can see the resisted circuit on the wiring diagram, but I don't know where to best go in after it? Or should I just bypass it ? And the best way to do that? I appreciate any advice or direction anyone can give me. Thanks
aboard to another Washington member! :Handshake :bananamanbest forum right here. i go up to leavenworth every once in a while
might want to check this out i can't make it to this one but a couple others are http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=45583 there a pretty good amount of Washington members now, just had a meet a couple of months ago and 10 mavericks/Comets showed up oh and i forgot to say
Thank you all for your welcome! I think I will just run a wire like Mavaholic suggested. In testing with a voltmeter connected to the coil it read 5.5 volts (engine not running) using the resisted line. I also tested using an apparent unresisted wire available in the engine compartment, but it read only about 9.5 volts. I would have thought it would read 12 volts. Maybe the drop on that line was due to resistance through connectors or something? Direct from the battery it is 12.
Where are the Pics? Matt, Your probably not going to like any of my pics since I have never painted the car. But I will dig some out and put something up. Now let's see---.
one pic I found Here is a photo of "Stinky" our 72 Maverick on a fast run to the Coolee(sp?) Dam. Back in the days when she had almost 300 hp. Now she only has about 150 and I rebuilt her for mileage this time. Let me know if you don't see the pic. I uploaded it but don't see anywhere on the message.
