What kind of spacing are you guys using from front of fan to radiator. I have factory shroud and 17'' 7 blade flex a lite fan. I have heard that the fan should be half in the shroud. I am flush with back of shroud and 3'' from radiator. Comet got a tad hot in goodguys traffic. Didn't spew fluid but got to 210 in 90 degree heat. Thanks

The fan shoud be closer and farther into the shroud opening, but 210 is not hot nor even should be considered overheating. 210 is about normal in 90 degree heat.

Like you said the fan should be half into the shroud. What radiator are you running?

May want to rethink the flexolite fan,, a fellow racer has steel plate in head an severe headaches from one flying apart. There has been numerous of these fly apart as well as many have had good luck with them. Me, I'll never use one or be near one,,, but that's just me.

Agree on fan half in and out of shroud and I think it's half in. from rubbing shroud. Good luck

Any fan regardless of manufacturer can come apart if it is damaged or spun to fast. I would feel much safer using an aftermarket rated for 10,000 RPM than an old OEM fan.

I have the same radiator in my Sprint. With 10:1 compression, mine has never gone over 185˚, even with prolong idling in over 90˚ temps. Perhaps you should consider switching to an electric fan. I have one mounted in front of the radiator. Works great.

if you read the directions on the flex fans they say that they should be replaced every year or two (i cant rember wich). how many people read the directions on a flex fan? just me i guess.

I would not thought that would fit in the front.
