My daughter, Darryl is taking her basic EMS course this summer as part of her medical training and had an interesting story to tell when she got home: The class was looking at wrecked car pictures and they were discussing possible injuries based on the collisions. The professor showed a picture of a red car that had been really demolished by a train and he said if anyone could identify the make and model of the car, he'd give them a dollar. Darryl really wasn't sure because the car was messed up, but was almost convinced it was a Maverick based on the headlight configuration. The professor couldn't believe her quick response, so he asked her for the year, and of course she knew the remnants of the big bumper made it a '74-'77. He was really amazed! He said he's been asking that for years, and no one has answered correctly. Darryl was a celebrity after collecting her dollar from the teacher. They were all out looking at the Maverick in the college parking that she had driven to class.
Great story, Doug! "Daddy's little girl" could probably teach a thing or two to her teacher on Mavericks. Ha! WTG, Darryl!
Darryl has been around Mavericks for a long time. She used to even go to the junk yard with me. (See attached photo of her pointing to a 72 Maverick, taken around 2000). She's almost 20 now!
