I have a 73 Maverick and it has a big nasty front bumper and I was just wondering if there was a conversion kit for a smaller bumper or can I install a fiberglass valance piece like i have seen on most Mavericks.

    Thanks
    Jake

you just need the front bumper and brackets off a 70-72 maverick and drill a few holes

alright, would you happen to know how easy it is because i have never dealt with changing out different bumpers on different years of cars

    Thanks

i did the swap on my car. i went from to 74-77 bumpers to 70-72 bumpers

you have to drill 2 holes in each frame rail to send bolts through to hold the bumper brackets and the piece between the grill and front bumper needs to be trimmed back a little. the 70-72 front valence is a little diffrent then your 73 so if you want the full look you should get that too but the 73 valence you have works just as good

bumper, bracket, valence, drill and some nuts and bolts is all you need

You might consider not changing your front bumper when you see this:

That is a very nice 73 it would be nice to have bumper look like that, but I like the 70-72 bumpers, but that does look amazing,

The 73 bumpers are a lot better than the 74-77 bumpers, you could eat dinner off of them!:D

That car was at the Dream Cruise in Detroit last year. I think that photo was taken there! Car is about the best looking Mav I have seen in a long time.

Yep! There are about the size of a picnic table and just as heavy. This is a '74 rear bumper without the mounts and bumper guards.
