You can buy a "Steering Coupler Kit" at Napa for $7.99 Part number BK 6301008

I had the nut holding the steering wheel to the shaft come off. Luckily I was turning around in someone’s driveway when it happen. My foot came off the clutch too fast and killed the engine when I was falling in the passenger side floor board. I too drove it home after tightening the nut with some Mickey Mouse needle nose pliers

older for trucks are famopus for ripping ou the rag joints after the cab mounts rot through and the wieght of the cab is basically sitting on the steering column it tears the rag joints all to crap. I had a 1973 F-100 that the cab mounts were rusted out, actually it was one cab mount that was shot and the other side was the floorboard around the mount and the weight of the cab on the steering column tor the rag joint up 3 or 4 times before I could figure out why it kept happening. bought the new cab mounts and some thick sheet metal and my grandfather replaced the floor boards and we jacked the cab up and bolted the new cab mounts in and didn't have any problems after that.

for who ever said they didn't know what a rag joint is...
