Does anyone make a Comet front spoiler? Is it the same as a Maverick? I'm looking for one for my 72 Comet GT.

    Thanks,
    William

i think mavericks and comets used the same lower valence so spoilers will bolt up the same between the two

I thought the valances were different. 69.5 to 72 being the same and 73 up being the same. Or maybe the Mav and Comet being different somewhere around that time...:hmmm::huh:

I am pretty sure my 73 valance is the same as the one on my 72. I think the difference is that starting in 74 with the big front bumper they just do not have the valence at all.

Nope, newtoford is correct. 69-72 are the same, 73 is special to that year, 74+ don't have valances.

But there all the same basic shape, so the spoiler will fit. I've been told 69 Shelby ones fit well, but I've never tried one (yet)

some of the past threads ive read on front spoilers said that the bottom contor of the '73 valence is a little diffrent then the 70-72 version and it may cause some issues with putting a spoiler on. i cant say for sure though.

the 73 valence also has a much bigger opening under the bumper as well

I only have a 73 to look at so I don't know for sure.

i have a question to add to this... so one of the first threads i read.. this guy said that if enough of us told this certain compaing we would by these rear visor things .. they woul put them into production.. well the small bumpers are the most sought out part of the car i think.. so why dont they make them.?? lol i only paid 700 bucks for my comet.. and if i probably would pay that just to have the small bumpers. maybe we could get a petition going with a company and if enough of us would buy them they might go ahead and make them!! maybe theres a really logical idea why that wouldn't work.. but it sounds good in my head =)

i think one of the members here is actually going to be making the small bumpers and swap parts along with a boat load of other resto pieces

It's not going to take a petition....it is going to take cold hard cash. :D

Seriously....I think realistically it would take 1000 "buyers" to ever make it a reality. I wouldn't hold my breath. :D
