Hi guys, I am installing a Holley 4 bbl and edelbrock intake on my maverick 302 cu. I went from the stock 2bbl and I don't know what I need for the throttle linkage bracket and stuff. I nguess I need to know what to buy to hook it to the stock throttle cable. I can start it, but I can't make it go vroom, vroom!
    Thanks in advance

Contact Edelbrock and get the throttle cable bracket that goe with the intake you purchased. What kind of intake is it?? performer/performer RPM/Torker???You should be able to get a universal one from Summit/Jeggs as well.

    intake type

it's a performer I believe, I'd have to go look, low rise, holley 650 carb w/electric choke. Stock maverick throttle cable. What exactly do I need to change, and what do I need to buy. And, most importantly, is there an inexpensive way to do it?

The stock throttle cable and bracket should bolt right onto the intake & carb. No alterations needed, other than to install the ball stud onto the carb throttle lever.

Mine required a triangular shaped plate cause the bolt holes were seperated a different spacing. The plate came with the intake tho... along with counter sunk screws.

Edelbrock must have changed the bolt spacing then on their intakes, they used to be dead on with the factory intakes. My Ford A321 and the last RPM intakes accept the the factory T/C brackets with no mods.

Should be dirt cheap to hook up.
If the throttle bracket doesn't line up with the E'brock bolt bosses, then you need the adapter plate and counter sunk screws that comes with the intake when new.
    Just like posted above.
Then there is a cheap bushing and ball stud that bolts into the large hole in the linkage arm of the Holley. If you have the right ball diameter, the stock linkage will snap right on to it.
You can even use a smaller hole in the linkage arm, if you don't have the bushing, and just put the ball stud through it, but IMO the smaller holes don't give as good an angle on the pull of the throttle cable.
