well the other day they set a 1977 on the pull-a-part here in knoxville, so as usuall I took off work the next morning to check it out. Well I got there to see the disc brakes setting in a cart in front of the maverick(4-door) I figured it was tim or chuck but there wasn't anyone around. I pulled my cart up to the front of the car and here come a guy in is 50's to get the cart and I looked at him and said "now I know who has been strippin the mavericks" well he was getting stuff for mustangs...well the short story is he has a friend that has a grabber he wants to sell so I gave him a couple of my "Maverick / Clubs Business cards" , well I just got a call from the guy and here is what he has. a 72 grabber, bench seats,6-cyl, 4-lug all original multi color primer, the only thinf missing is the center part of the spoiler, which was missing when he got it. has some rust in the quarters and the drivers floor. the hood has a few pin holes under the grabber hood. he is going to send me pictures tomorrow andi will post them....oh the price $1000 Robert
Robert, unfortunately it would not be me because I am in Nebraska and wont be home until probably around July. Where is that Grabber at? There is one over by me that I have been watching but it has alot of rust and the interior is shot and the guy wants way to much for it, I believe it was around $2,500.00. I am just waiting until he really needs money. I will be going to a couple pull-a-parts tomorrow to see what they have, they are suppose to have a few late 80s to early 90s 5.0 mustangs, I will be looking for roller motors and standard transmissions along with anything Maverick.
this one is up in morristown. I keep forgetting you are gone more than here. by the time you get back I should have the garage about 50% done. going to have the floor poured next tuesday so I should have the walls up and the roof on in about 3 weeks or less. Robert
hasn't been much added, the 77 was a 4 door and the 6cyl was in the engine compartment but was unhooked and turned backwards. no hood and lots of broken glass. I went up a couple or weeks ago to get a 3g 130 amp alt. and just walk around. I picked up a 4 wheel yard cart from tractor supply to use. It is much better than the wheel borrow and you don't have the fight the gravel. now that TDOT has shutdown I-40 through k-town, unless a maverick is put in the yard it might be a while before I go back. Robert
Here is the pictures he emailed me...at least the links. Looks like a lot of work for a low-end grabber. Depends on your skill, othewise I'd choose a more optioned version (if it was me, which it isn't). I do wish you all the luck.
