what can i expect?

    i got a 72 maverick 2dr coupe with a 250 I-6. i know its a pretty decent motor from what ive heard... but is it fast what kind of speed can i expect out of it (once its runnin?)

    The 250 is a peppy little engine, but don't expect it to be real fast. After all it's still a 6 banger.:)

    NO....sorry, and alot of those jap 4 bangers will outrun a stock 302 from the era.

    As far as quarter mile times go I'd say somewhere around the 16-17 second range at 60-70mph, and for all out top speed on the interstate look for around 90-110mph. I know I've had my 250 I6 over 100 once or twice. Most of the imports will hand it to you too, I know mine wouldnt stand a chance running my honda.

    is there any advice you can give me to make it faster other then a 302?

    what it coast to make it fast is probably more then youd spend adding 2 more cylinders to your car.

    If you want to drive that fast I suggest these upgrades:

    - Disc Brakes
    - Lots of good insurance

    Check out Clifford performance, apparently a 6 banger can be built to outperform some V-8's.:)
