    New windshield is in

I had the new windshield installed today, along with the back glass, didn't go as well as I planned, but I'm just glad to have it in. I never realized how low the rear view mirror is, but I compared it to the other glass I have and it right on the money. If you ever have a new windshield installed, just make sure you find someone with a lot of patience and experience. It was a little nerve wracking, but turned out excellent!!

More than me!! It was a tense situation!! I didn't want any of that black crap on my new headliner or freshly painted dash.

Hmmm,, that is big step in getting a car together. I agree, makes for tense time watching someone do that.

Glad it went well Dave. I hope it doesn't leak. They are a little tricky to get right. If the glass is brand new it might be a little thinner than the factory glass.

Oh, and it better not leak, I'll check the first of next week when we wet sand & buff the car. Nick, it's new PPG glass, I checked the thickness compared to the original windshield, it was the same.

i noticed that also...My car has the..LDO...seats so that makes it lower in it. if/when it ever falls off, i will reinstall it higher...it makes a blind spot to the right front...
someone on here at one time suggested how to remove the base...:hmmm:

I put mine up higher on the windshield.Dont do it!! unless your 6'4 you will not be able to see out the back window with it.Besides that rear glass and the angle its at its like looking out a mail slot to begin with.Put the mirror up higher and you have half a mail slot to look out of in that mirror.Bad gree gree I tell you.

    Lookin' good.

It was smart to have a specialist do the glass.

Any attempts I have ever made a messing with fixed glass has always been bad. Very frustrating.
