anyone have a book to decode them? i have 3 4100's right now but dont have a clue how much each on is rated for. any help is always appreciated
as far as I know there are only two sizes. Any on the 289/302 were 390? cfm and the ones from the 390 were 600 cfm. The venturii bores are different so the large venturi carbs are 600 cfm.
On the side of the primary bowl is a stamped circle with either 1.08 or 1.12 in it. 1.08 is a 475 cfm and 1.12 is a 600 cfm.
Thanks for the clarification on the CFM for the small carbs Mavaholic. My memory isn't so good any more.
the 108-4100 is a 425 cfm, and the 112 is 600, the best i remember. I use the 108 on most everything on the street. any extras?
well the years on mine are '58 w/112 stamping, '62 w/ 112 stamping and '65 w/ 112 stamping..... so all of these should be 600's
Everything I've ever read says the 1.08 is 475. I did a quick google and came across this web page. Kinda interesting. http://home.alltel.net/bsprowl/Autolite4100Test.htm
Thanks for the info. found out some interesting stuff about the oldest one i have. it's a '58 model, removed from a Ford full size car, automatic choke and was a 352 cid engine. either way, i agree with these being some of the best 4v carbs for street engines and should feed any of my 302's nicely
that is some good info, much better than what i had been quoted. they are great carbs. seems like the primaries are the only diff.thanks for sharing that, and correcting some misconceptions.
