One source that I stumbled upon said 3 inches high, and that was for a nice looking reproduction of the Comet GT scoop. BTW, that is the same one used on Cougars and Montegos, too.

Are you looking for a scoop to use with your newly ordered 2-bbl setup for the six-banger?

This scoop is the ultimate on a maverick hood, [IMG] But it isn't going to cover the hole for the 2bbl 6 cyl setup. Your gunna have to find a wide scoop for that since the carb on the six banger is offset to the passenger side

that scoop is good but I want the mav,or similiar. I would like a thunderbolt style, but with the flexible hood of a fairmont,it wouldn't last long. thanks for the suggestion. jim.

The one on my Comet here is a mid-80s Mustang GT scoop. It is 2 inches tall and the edge in the opening goes straight across instead of having the peak in the middle.

I would like to get a Comet GT scoop myself because of they follow the ridges in the hood better than this one. I think the little bit of added height would look better too.
