    Welcome!

www.maverickman.com has carbon fiber Grabber hoods.

Derrick is a member here and does an awesome job on his Maverick parts.

If you spent the same money on a stock Grabber hood and shipping, with their selling prices nowadays, you wouldn't have as nice a hood as one of these.
I have one and they are perfect, as well as light as a feather.

If you insist on stock, you can keep an eye on eBay and our For Sale forum.
There was a 'fixer upper' on the forum recently.

    On the rims...
IMO your best bet is to convert to 5 lugs.

You can still get a 5 lug Maverick rear very reasonably, as well as 5 lug front discs.

You will get a better price on these parts by looking locally at salvage yards.
Online you will find the parts in the hands of middlemen that want a fortune.

I have got Maverick 5 lug rears, and Maverick/Granada front disks at yards for 50 to 100 bux a set.

i've never seen 4 to 5 lug adapters. Easiest thing would be to find a 5 lug rear end from another Maverick and replace it. then switch out the 4 lugs on front to 5 lug discs from a donor car. you might want to use the search function to find any past threads on these subjects.:)

Junkyard, ebay, parts wanted section on here. I've seen them from $100 to $800 depending on the gears. Posi or open. Look for a while and see what pops up around you. Try to get another one out of a Maverick or the width will probably be different.:)

I maybe wrong. Someone chime in on this one if you know., but I think you can swap the 5-lug axels brakes and drums for the conversion so you don't have to change the housing.

    Hi,

Welcome to the board. Good to see another Florida member. I live just north of Clearwater.

I was at the Sumter (Webster) swap meet last weekend and a guy that has a lot of 9" axle center sections had an entire 5 bolt 8" out of a Maverick for sale. I didn't get any info on it (didn't need it).

I have seen him there before. He sets up in the row furthest south. He had that axle with him 3 months earlier, too.

The swap meet runs the first sunday of every month except July and August.

    Pricey?
    Well yes AND no.

My point was that if you find a stock Grabber hood for cheaper, there are probably issues that will cost you, unless you just luck up and find someone that doesn't know what Grabber hoods bring today.

If you find one for 500 bux as an example, then you spend 200 getting it to you... now you have 700 in a hood that you still need to fix (and you will have to fix it if you only paid 500) and then prep and paint.
All of which will put you over the price of the CF hood to your door.
Then, the CF needs no immediate prep work!
You can put it on the car and drive, while looking great.
A steel hood will rust if you don't paint it. (Primer collects moisture, therefore rust, while paint repels it.)

Then there is the fiberglass hood option...
They seem decent at first, but if you do a search of the folks that have FG hoods, you will find that the price to your door is usually only half the price. You pay all over again getting the part fitted, prepped, and painted. FG hoods never go right on the car, as do steel and CF.

CF can be painted if you like, but you can drive with it on the car from the moment you get the part, until the day that your whole car is ready to go in the body shop for a quality paint.

    Just a thought.

    I'll chime in.
    They don't.

4 lug axle bearings are tiny compared to 5 lug. Don't swap.

I thought they did for a long time... Even argued the point with folks here.
    But I found out different.

Btw: Sorry to all you folks here that I argued with about this subject!:Handshake

They know how much I like to argue though. ;)
