Geez, I never had any stinkin' shock extentions back in the day.I just added more air to the air shocks until I drove one of them clean through the trunk floor.
Hmm...did that once too! Air shocks are not the best way to go....that said, either are shock extensions.
In what way or ways could you strenthen up these mounting points. I think I remember hearing someone say something about a bar the went acrosss the truck to ditribute the pressure
You can take a solid piece of 1/4" flat bar and punch the shock mount holes and sandwich that between the mounts and floor, that'll take care of the extra load. I had air shocks on my 67 Stang for years and never had problems with the top's, they were already thru the floor (stud on top and bottom)
