i am have a fuel problem. i have a 71 maverick and i have a holley electric fuel pump. I cannot get fuel to the carb. I can here the pump. but i am not getting fuel up front. i thought the line might be blocked so i took an air hose to the line and goes thru fine. do you have to bleed an electric pump..if so how? I am desperate!!!
is the pump installed near or at the same level as the bottom of the tank? and how far away from the tank is it?
Electric fuel pumps work better pushing fuel than pulling. If it is mounted above the tank it may have problems priming itself.
Mount it low, even or lower than the fuel pickup in the tank.Make sure the pump is hooked up right as well. One end is from tank the other is to carb.Flow direction is wrong pump wont run the car.
well i think i found the problem. i think it was clogged line. i am going to replace it next weekend. if it dosnt do it for me the only other option is to move the pump like you guy's and the directions say. i bought this car nowing it hasn't run in like 5 years so i knew this stuff would come up, but damn this fuel problem has been tough.
