this semester, as part of my auto tech degree one of the classes im taking this semester is "steering and suspension". so you can guess what we do during lab time:rolleyes:

anyway the teacher is a cool guy and lets you do the jobs on your own car rather then the donated school cars so i figure while im down there why not use the full service shop the rebuild my suspension and get a grade for it? and give my self an alignment for free as well. at this point the only things i know are not factory original are the shocks and outter tie rod ends, both of which i did

so im wondering what would be a good list of parts i could take over napa and pick up for my class project?

(only problem with working on your own car is you have to provide the parts:))

yea thats the thing. in this class im probably going to be doing EVERYTHING. it'll probably be better for me to spend the money and do the stuff to my own car then waste time pulling apart the donated cars and putting them back together

I agree, use Moog, it's a little more money than the offshore stuff, but the quality is alot better. Upper ball joints, lower control arms, upper control arm bushings, and strut rod bushings (use rubber not poly)
If you goto Moogs website you can print off a parts list for Mavericks and Mustangs and compare what parts cross over, then orer the parts from a Mustang supplier, usually cheaper. I have the list somewhere.

so i drove the mav in for a preliminary inspection today. first time i drove it in like 2 months :)

found out my lower ball joints are trash and the boot un the drivers side upper was all ripped up. i think im just gong to replace both the uppers and lowers. they shouldnt be too much $ right ;)

The lower is the whole arm, and it you have to pull the upper to change the ball joint, you may as well do the bushings.

I would personally just replace the entire upper and lower control arms as a unit. Got mine from Mustangs Unlimited, as well as the spring perches. Make sure to use rubber strut rod bushings.

theres a moog upper controle arm busing kit that gets rid of the stock ones that suck to sevice. i dont know the part number but ive seen i posted on here several times. do NOT put polyurithane bushings on the strut rods. they will cause the strut rods to break. i would put polyurithane on the sway bar.
