I agree, splice open about a centimter of the cable and attach it to the left of the base/attachment bolt of the regulator...

I don't have an external regulator, but I can attach it to the alternator bracket bolt...

My '72 has one running from the battery to the block, and then from the block to the fender apron. My Fiat is the same way. I have a 10 gauge cable running between the two aluminum heads and then to the block on that car.

You should really have one going from the block to the body of the car also. Not having one can create a lot of electrical problems, as the electrical system in your car will try to find a ground to the block through anything it can. Especially when you have your head lights and stuff like that on.

Good thing to know. I ran it that way cause a lot of things i owned was this way. Can I daisy chain off the block ground to the body or just run a second cable off the negative post on the battery

Whut chu talkin' bout, Willis? :16suspect

Oh, that head problem! Yes, Mr. Frank is correct - again.

Recommeded by "The Book": Two - one from each head to the firewall. One from the front of one head to the engine "frame". One from the battery (in trunk) to "frame". I suppose a starter ground wouldn't hurt either.

This one looks longer than necessary (the shorter the better, I'd say) but you get the idea of what a "braided" ground looks like now. There are shorter, narrower grounds available at your Vato Zone cheap.
