and I think that this is actually the same one that I have seen twice on EBAY. Notice that it has the word Maverick over the steer head logo. Most if not all of the deluxe gas caps I have seen in the past do not have the word Maverick on them. The reason the word Maverick is on them is because they are for the later Mavericks that take the gas cap with the 4 ears on them, they will fit the pre 75 Mavs but are a pain to get on and off. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong about this

The later Mavericks (I believe starting in either '74 or '75 through '77) with the deluxe gas cap had the "Maverick" letters in them. My '76 Stallion was like that.... Too bad someone doesn't re-pop these. Just last week a NOS one went for around $250.... I was shocked!
yeah the prices for these gas caps are getting/been rediculous for some time now. I mean for cripes sake you can buy an entire parts care for the price people are paying for a Deluxe Gas Cap
I lucked out and got one with the Maverick script off of a 75 LDO 4dr. IMO they look a hundred times better than the regular non LDO caps.
ive got about 4 of them and have had about 12, but never had one with the letters in it..... i like them better w/o the writing. kind of a suttle, but strong appearence with just the steerhead
