Did ford ever produce a 5 lug 8 inch in the mavericks. I have a 4 lug and want to convert to 5 lug but if i can i want to keep the 8 inch and change the hubs up front.

I only want to do this cause I dont care for a 9 inch as i will be lucky to even come close to 300 hp with my mild build on the 302

Yes, '71-'72 factory V8 Mavericks are 5 lug. ALL '73-'77 Mavericks are 5 lug. Any year will bolt into your car. You will need to change the entire rear housing, the housing is different between 4 lug and 5 lug 8 inchers.

Try a Granada or Monarch 1975 to 1980. These mostly had 8" rears, a few got 9's, more got em in 1980, I figure cause Ford was trying to use up the inventory. 1980 was the last year for the 9" in cars.
