    Hi All,

I found these images in (I think?) Stefan's journal pix. I did lighten one up a bit so as to clear up the undercarriage. Anyone here familiar with this car?

What do you see? To me, stock leafs and Cal-trac bars. Leafs have been moved in under the frame rails. Don't see any subframe connectors, can't tell about mini-tubs, or full tubs...

From the other pic, it looks like a rather huge tire, possibly a 14x30 slick. I'd love to be able to get a 325DR under my Mav without tubbing...

it looks like the guy from lentech's car i saw at a nmca race one year at maple grove. if it is he was running an all motor, stock type suspension setup in the pro stock class. i think hes on this site too.

Was thinking of going Cal-Trac bars. Am for sure now. Seems like the stock suspension needs very little to make it work at the track and hook. I am glad someone posted this up. I would love to see what some of you guys who race a lot are running suspension wise.

If you look at that second picture thats a 4-link with slider on rear of leafs!! (might be cal-trak bottom bar but not the top one!)

Actually, in the wheelstand picture he still had leaf springs and cal-trac bars but he had fabbed up an "upper link" above the housing to make a type of 4-link setup using a leaf spring (I have close-up pictures). He later changed to the bolt-in "mustang type" setup to help calm the wheelies down.

    Dale,

You can't go wrong with Cal-trac's, I've got them on my 11 sec Buick GN (turbo 231" 6 cyl) powered '96 S-10. I can get a 1.70 60ft time on the street with Nitto 275 DR's as measured with a G-Tech Pro. John Calvert recommends removing some leafs to soften the "hit", I'm down to 2 on my setup. Still rides good, but I wouldn't want to carry anything heavy!

The Mopar guys used to use the same type of setup in the early 70's pro stock classes. I've got an old Mopar chassis book that outlines it well. Those guys had their crap together back then!

It only hurts if you let off too quick.

Really, THAT is all I want. Just an inch or two of daylight, and I would be just completely pleased.

I would be please to even get one wheel off the ground.

Actually, I would be pleased if the engine RUNS after I put it in today...:yup:
