I got the grill back today from the plastic chromer. They did a quality job. It was $46.00. Pictures below. If you like to contact them, here we go: Vacuum Orna-Metal, Inc. 11380 Harrison Rd, Romulus, Mich. 48174. 734 941 9100, 800 827 6762.
You didn't happen to get a price on armrest bases did you? $46 for a complete intricate grill and I would think $10 tops for base ...
I did not. Call em though. They gave me an initial phone quote. The people are good over there. It is kinda sad though. History of Detroit. I go there and it is a huge plant, with only 10 employee cars there. I am guessing a lot of those jobs are in Asia now. But they do good work and dont mind the small stuff.
looks good. i might have to save that post for when i'm ready and send a bunch of stuff out all at once.
Thanks for your nice posts. I am a 44 year old guy, trying to rebuild his first type of car as a young driver. Although many believe a classic car should be rebuilt to its original form. I am using the following in my decision making: If I was 16 years old with a few thousand bucks(prolly more like 4 or 5 when I am done) what would I do? Using this criteria is more fun. Any crazy ideas for me to consider?
