well guys,i can't say i have enjoyed any of this but the hard part is over. hagerty called me yesterday with a settlement offer. they were a little to high on the buy back amount but after some quick negotiations we agreed on a $1000 buyback price. i can't complain since there is over $10,000 in the drivetrain alone. so i should be getting a check sent out today or tomorrow. other than taking a week to get an adjuster out here to see it, it has been a really easy process. now comes the part of finding the right replacement. i am checking out several options. wish me luck anyone have a 302 3 speed rust free car they want to donate to a good cause? hahahaha
Good to hear that the Insurance company treated you right, thats why it pays to have good insurance. Good Luck in your search!!!
So, they just handed you your agreed value and you gave them a grand back and kept the car? Is it that easy?
yep, that easy. they actually subtract the buyback from the check they send you. so if you were agreed at 25,000 they would send you a check for 24,000. my next car will be insured by them also.
Kool! I am glad they work that easy, and are willing to haggle on the buy back price... So, you get to haggle about how HIGH the value is while you are buying insurance, then how LOW the value is when you want to buy the salvage title back... Too bad you had to go through what you did to "test" how easy they are to work with...
Well depending on how much the insurance check was for there have been quite a few decent Mavericks on Ebay lately and most of them down south, either in FLA or NC.. Wish you luck on finding a replacement
good going Jason... i went online and got a quote from them... $333 a year...$18,000...prem. road service. JFF
