I don't think you want to use that To use that motor would require alot of fabrication to make it work. I believe it has been done on here once or twice. But it involves cutting shock towers, making engine mounts, wiring for fuel injection, finding a transmission to match, wiring for the transmission, ect, ect. It is definitely not for the weak of heart or weak of pocket book and you could easily go over your budget. It would be really cool to do but from what I get, you really don't want to go through all of the trouble to make that motor work. Oh and to answer question 1 yes a long block will work it just means it is the majority of the motor. In other words the short block usually refers to the bottom end of the motor only the block, crank, camshaft, pistons and timing gear. Long block atleast involves the heads and usually an intake manifold also. BTW what are you going to do with this car? Go out and kill ricers on the weekend or are you going to use it as a daily driver HONDA= How Odd No Damn Acceleration
Markso125, Thanks much 4 the good advice. I want the best of both worlds. A daily driver a rice-slaughterer all wrapped up in a granny-lookin yellow hub capped sleeper. If I HAD to choose between which one i wuld say that a rice-killing machine is my 1st priority. Do you have any suggestions for the most quick & easiest way that I can get a high purforamcne motor with all the add ons like alternatur, carb, dist cap plus matching tranny as a package? I think this wold probably do It is a good rotating assembly and a easy swap http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_857483_-1_10763 also with the full kit you get about everything you need and you will still have enough to buy a transmission built to handle it, either a AOD (PaulS will argue this one, he hates the AOD, but you can get one from Jegs, either a TCI or a Hughes, that can handle your motor) or a C4. The AOD will give you better fuel economy but the C4 is a more dependable tranny. Also you need to look into upgrading your rear axle, and your gearing you are going to use. And Newtoford does make several really good points you want to be able to have it warrentied so try to stay with a reputable place preferably close. It might be a good deal at first but having to ship a motor halfway across the country because it has a bad cam or something like that really sucks. There are alot of combinations these other guys have done that not only look good but work really great. You might look at some of the straight sixes and look at the power they are getting out of them, in alot of cases they are comparable to the V8 motors when built right. In your car that means very little fabrication. (ps like the yellow..)

Nah you don't No most of those cars have some well built cars, I mean not just motor but axles, transmissions, the works. You can get alot of power out of a 5.0L (302) but you can get it out of the sixes too (if you could get ahold of an australian turbocharged six that would be cool) well good luck on what you decide.
