I sold my Billet Speciality magnum 500s to fund my wifes trip home to Korea when here dad was sick...... I never test fitted them. I bought two new rear rims..... installed the Yokohama Road race tires..... Get home from work and test fit. They fit the front fine.(although with the RandC mustang II kit with 13 inch 6 piston calipers that will remain to be seen, and the reason why I am waiting to buy the frt) I went to the back since this is the ones I bought them for anyways.... They stuck out way to far...... I scratched my head for a minute..... Then realized the rearend housing I installed was longer than a stock mav...... I bought it along time ago from a salvage yard from under a maverick.... Lesson learned always measure the rearend housing before assuming it is of stock width..... I have two other housings and 2 sets of of spare axles and I am ordering aftermarket axles anyway...... So no big deal...... FWIW I have 17 inch up frt with 4.5 inches of back spacing. Fit with a 245 40 R17. I will swap in the original axle and test fit the rear...... I will be using 25540r17 in the rear.......
Why every time I decide to do something another problem arises..... It's going to be very cold tommorrow but I need to test fit the rims just to make sure..... So I will be swapping in a housinh with axles to test...... I am hoping to have the RandC II set up in by March....
When you do the install be sure to take LOTS of pictures! I had thought about doing the r&c setup on my 77 but just dont know about cutting it up. I'll just wait and see how yours turns out.
Same here on the front end. I really want to run the V6 I have in my Maverick. Mustang II seems to be the way to go more and more, and I certainly have the resources available to install it. Plus it would open the door to swapping far superior engines into the car in the future. The shock towers and steering setup in these cars couldn't be in a worse place when it comes to swapping in modern engines. Even a EFI 2.3 4 banger has a hard time clearing.
