Hello everyone. I am a newb to mmb. I am needing some help. I need to know what wire runs the electric choke on my 75 maverick 250. I see 4 wires that are exposed and at least 3 fit the CHOKE!

    PLEASE HELP

On my car, it's White with black trace that has a fusable link and runs from the Distrib. up to the choke. It puts out about 7 Volts. I was told that will not heat up as quickly and cause the choke to open early.

I just went through the 2bbl swap here in Little Rock and hooked up the electric choke to a 12 volt lead that was already there for a 1bbl carter carburetor. Chilton refers to a choke lead coming off the alternator. Does your choke have 3 leads? If just one, then I'd try hooking it up to one that's 12V continuous while running.

Just wondering---if any of those wires are truly "extra" they may have activated some smog stuff or warm/cold air bypass valves that aren't there anymore.

i have 4 total plugs and i believe the smog pump has already been removed. Is the choke supposed to have a constant hot.

Yes, keeping it hot keeps the spring expanded and the choke plate open. So, when the engine is turned off, the spring cools over time and the choke plate closes putting itself back into the "choked" position for a cold start.
