Well I found another Maverick. Drove about 3 and a half hours to the other coast of Florida to check it out and ended up bringing it home. It's a 77' two door, with a straight six. It runs great, my father drove it back with no tags mind you lol. He was scared to leave it behind the way the guy treated the car. The interior is gone, no dash, seats torn to pieces, headliners gone, and the sun has destroyed a lot of the interior. The exterior only has surface rust though. So it's gonna get sanded and primed this week. The engine itself only has 10,000 miles, it was rebuilt entirely and with ford parts so I was happy to hear that at least. It only cost me $300 which I think is a deal for a car that runs great. Now if I could only find some of the freebies everyone else finds lol.

    and another...

I have found another today lol. I went up to my dad's shop to take pics of the car, and Rick comes out and tells me he found me another mav. So I need to call this guy. $175 and its a foor door, he says he thinks its just good for parts. But I'm gonna get some pics of the car I got yesterday. I lost my camera so I took my sisters with me and the whole thing fell apart in my hands. I got video of it but I'm gonna have to go get a disposable camera tonight. Oh and I found a treat under the seat of the car, the original owners manual with a business card stapled to it. The car was bought in Cleveland, Ohio. And I think that is where my other Maverick is from.

By the way I've got a question. Emblems, this 77' has none. Not one Maverick emblem anywhere. Even the dash, and there's no holes where one would have been. Is there a reason for that? Cause even if they'd been taken off the outside I'd have one on the dash or holes in the dash at least.

My 77 has no logos anywhere either. Just F O R D on the hood and trunk lips.

I wonder why they did that on 77's hmmm I'll never understand Ford. Did 77's all have sport mirrors? I guess I haven't paid attention to any of these things as I never intended to own one newer than 74'. Mine is bare, no radio no ac no options at all really. But I have fancy rally wheels, I can't think of what they are right now. And I have sport mirrors.

You go girl!! It's nice when you can rescue these cars of ours. I never heard of any specific year just offering the sport mirrors. I know for sure they didn't in '76.
