The other day I pulled out the master cylinder and did not see too well what I was doing as vision was obsructed and I could not get a good angle. Tell me if what I propose is right to put it back on.
    1) Attach the shaft to the MC
    2) loosely bolt on the MC
    3) go to the brake pedal and attach the shaft to it.
    4) Then what do I do? I have this part with a hole and a "U" where does that go? Then I have wires to replug and a red pin to put on. Can someone decribe this process better for me? Maybe step by step.

    Thanks

you ...never take off the "U" :tsk: once it is off there is no easy way to put it back on..
1-some have to pull the dash (or wish it was pulled).
2-you may have to pull the ..left front tire... and go in through the ...wheelwell :yup:
    3-you can pull the top/bottom off the...cowl...
    4-pull the steering column.
5-take the ..driver door and seat out...then look under there and ...wish you hadn't taken the "U" off.

    J/K :D
it will go on 2 ways...right way and wrong way...i have put it on the wrong way a few times but have never put it on the right way...my son or Mike are the ones that have always put mine on. (a little too tight under there for me).
Earl and i put his on the other day...maybe be can 'splain it to you..he just stuck it in and snapped the clip...:rofl2: :badwords::boxing::cry::smash::Blasting:

    ...:Handshake...

I take it that your talking about the brake light switch, I find that taking out the front seat ( four bolts) is the way to go, you then have room to see what your doing and will only take a mins to install.

On the switch, the U part fits between the inside of the pedal shaft and the M/C rod, the "O" part is to the outside of the shaft. In otherwords, the M/C rod should be between the U & the O when installed correctly. You have the rest down-pat. The red pin, I assume is the keeper that holds everything in place on the pedal shaft. All this can be done without removing the seat, dash or anything else, it just takes laying on your back with your head under the dash. I've installed the brake light switch in far less time than it takes to remove the seat.

Kinda on the same subject, what attaches the master cylinder to the firewall? Is it just a long bolt that bolts all the way through to the pedal assembly or is it a stud sticking out?

It is a stud that has threads on either end. One end threads into the pedal housing and the other end has a nut that holds the master cylinder on. The brake light switch is very easy to change. I can do it by feel without seeing what I am doing, some may not be so Inclined. You simply unplug the wires, remove the red pin on the end, pull the switch and master cylinder rod out until the "O" is free from the stud on the brake pedal, then remove it from the brake pedal. The new one goes back on in reverse. I have found that the hardest part about changing the master cylinder is getting the brake lines loose without twisting them or rounding them off.
