center section question

    this may be a dumb question but will the 8 inch ceneter section fit both 4 and 5 lug housings?i found a 5 lug rear end but it didnt come with center section and i have an 8 inch center section from a for lug rear thanks and hope evryone had a happy new year

    I thought the 4-lug were 7.5 inch rearends...

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    The 8" was a 4-lug on a Maverick from late 1970 thru 1972.

    '70 Maverick Grabber
    My car was built in July of 1970 and came with the 7 1/2" rear. Some other things on the car are like a 71. Guess I got about the last 7 1/2" rear.

    That was pretty late in the model year to have the 7 1/2". I bet it had to be one of the last ones.

    My '71 Grabber was built on Thursday August 20, 1970 in Kansas and it came with a 8in rear with the 4 bolt pattern
