Two sets of pics, taken at the same angles, one set from the summer before the Granada disc swap, the other in the fall after the swap. I think it sits lower now than it did before the swap, what do ya'll think?
That's what I'm thinking, too. Can't figure out why though, unless the Granada spindles have a lower drop to them.
It will probably drop a little in the rear when I move the bolts in the mickey mouse shackles back down to the bottom[ or is that the top?] hole. I still can't get over the difference in drum vs disc spindles. If I had of know it would drop that much, I'd never cut that 1 coil off the spring....
If the wheel/tire assembly is moved outward due to the swap, it and the control arm have more leverage to compress the spring. On my car I installed front wheels that had more backspace (less leverage) and it caused the car to raise.
I've got another set, but I'm not sure if they're Maverick or Granada. The set on the car came from a 77 Granada for sure. If I remember this weekend, I'll post some side by side shots....
Here's a pic of the back side of a drum brake and a disc brake spindle. They look the same height to me....
And here's some pics of the new stance after I lowered the rear shackles to the top hole [or is that the bottom hole?] Whichever it is, I shortened them, lol. Now the springs have some arch in them again....
I think that is where your drop is, not the spindle. I have the same combo on my Comet, Granada discs and one coil cut. I like the change in stance.
