Well, for mostly drag racing or racing with a little bit of street action, your best bet (as Don said) would be the Calvert Racing split-mono leafs. Or, if you want to drop a bunch of weight ( and spend more money ), run a set of fiberglass rear springs. As a side note, the best place to lose weight is in the suspension, A.K.A unsprung weight. However, if you're not planning on making a bunch of power, you could get by with some multi-leafs with the front half of the spring pack clamped and a good traction bar. All depends on how fast you want to go.

For the money you can't beat Calvert Racing's Split-Mono Leafs with different customized spring rates for the front and back of the spring.

with the calvert springs do you customize the front/rear rates yourself? or do they have a baseline setup for a comet?

You basically give them all the specs of your car over the phone and they pick a front and back spring rate the should work for you. Adjusting the traction bars and shocks provide additional fine tuning of the rear suspension.
