I just read through this thread before leaving for thanksgiving meal at the folks house... lets start with this one and I'll address the rest when I get home tonight... can someone please provide me with a link to a set of cal tracs, bolt in specific to a maverick that include hardware like u bolts, etc, that cost $339 delivered to your door? If they can be purchased for 339 including the shipping, I won't bother to make/sell them.

Not looking for a fight here- thats the last thing I'm about- just trying to save people some money... honestly: if you think that I can make a living selling these traction bars after what it cost me in parts/labor... you're a very optimistic person, lol. I made/offered them simply because I like mavericks and I like maverick people... you can check: I don't make/offer these for any other make/model car, even though it would be easy for me to do so- it was just a gesture for the maverick/comet folks.

Its not worth it to go through this every time, so as of now I won't advertise the traction bars. Everyone who PMd me- no worries for you. I will make as many sets as I have material for on hand and then just make them for in-house builds.

I'll still advertise the tower braces in a bit.

    Happy thanksgiving everyone.

    Traction Bars

Well ,i have been reading these threads and as soon as cometgt1974 came on board with his comment about Calvert racing and his Caltrac design and sueing people ,things are getting ugly( this is NOT an attack on you brother,cometgt1974) Now from what i can see is that Mad Max Mav has done ,is built a new design just for MAVERICKS/COMETS as he would know ,he races one , a design that proforms perfect on Mavericks/ comets, better than the all around every vehical Caltrac. I must say this , why is it when somebody wants to help people , as friends and a dollar is being made people get bent out of shape ,DONT YOU KNOW ,THERES TO MUCH FIGHTING BETWEEN THE BROTHERS AND THE SISTERS ,DONT YOU KNOW WERE ALL SUPPOSE TO GET ALONG. Happy Thanksgiving America from your brother across the border : Canada :cheers:Jimmy2gates

He will have to buy one to see if it's the same "design" :D J/k...
He would be going after some really small potatoes and may find himself skinned :2cents:

Not trying to piss anybody off, just don't personally see the point in it, and I never said anything about anybody making or not making money. As usual nobody got my point. That's why I said "it is just my opinion". By the way, Calvert Racing makes a "Maverick Specific" part# for there cal trac bars.....as well as a bunch of other cars. They list ALL there bars on there website for $339 + shipping. How do I know all of this you ask, because I bought a set about 6 years ago and the car has 60' a 1.32 with them, so I do know a little bit about them. http://www.calvertracing.com/ord/order.htm
    http://www.calvertracing.com/app/app.htm

Did anybody even take the time to go to the website because they have offered a "Maverick/Comet Specific" part# ever since they started making them.:hmmm:

Anyway, not trying to ruin thanksgiving, just giving my take on it. If you guys want to buy these bars.... no problem and no skin off of my back.....I will continue to run my cal-trac bars and continue to get excellent tech. support from calvert racing. You guys do whatever the H*ll you want to do.

i understand where cometgt1974 is coming from. i haven't posted on here but i was thinking along the same lines. if they work for you go for it. i see lots of things that have been started by a company and then along comes something similar, but with little differences. i got my caltracs for $339 also and john calvert delivered them to me at the track. also offered me his scooter to go take them to my car in the parking lot. i personally don't see where he'd worry about it too much.:)

I tell you what. Thelast thing I wnt or cre to do is create stress for anyone- including ME. Thats why I started building cars in the first place. I want people to at least see that the bars I make are top shelf and perform perfectly, so if anyone wants one of the few sets that I already made- I'll sell them for $220 plus whatever the actual shipping. Thats my cost- parts and the labor I pay my fabricator. After that, I'll shut the hell up and keep things to myself.

Its not worth it to me to get into a pissing match about anything over the internet... and I'm sure Mr Calvert is a really nice dude, honestly... but I'm not sure what you men my tech support...? Once the bars are properly installed, the only adjustment that need to be made if any are for specific track conditions and gear changes, etc. All of which the racer him/her self will be making... It doesn't matter- I'm not advertising them anymore period.

COOL! someone remembered my zoomie pipes! lol. I DID get them mounted up- they're SICK! I am actually jet hot coating the entire length of them- but they should actually be done by now. I'll throw them back on for you (I store the car over the nasty winter here) and take pictures! Between the cam and the blower...with straight zoomie pipes on the car, it gets...loud. EVERYONE here thinks it is foolishly loud...butIlove it. Particularly when going through drive up windows.

Mad Max Mav, I just wanted to thank you for the effort, I to have almost stopped posting due to negative comments. I already own a set of Cal-Tracks or i would want a set of yours, Mainly because you do own a Maverick and you are one of the community. Please don't take one or two negative comments personal, And stop manufacturing parts for our beloved Mavericks.
