Greetings from this new member. I have gotten a lot of information from this forum and hope to be able to contribute what little info I have. I am doing a resto-mod of a '65 Comet Caliente. To date I have most everything I need to put it all back together. However, right now it is sitting on car jacks, stripped to bare metal. I just finished putting new bearings, seals, and brakes on the rear. Rear brakes are drum, front are disc. I replaced all the bushing with newer urethane ones. Put in new rear springs, a rear stabilizer bar, and shocks all around. I have a rebuilt 302 with Edlebrock manifold and 4 bbl carb. Power will go through a front loader T5 transmission. The clutch will be cable actuated. I have a high output starter and high output alternator. I have an aluminum radiator, complete rewiring kit, and all new body gaskets and seals. The interior chrome will have to be redone. I am sticking with my stock bench seats but bought an aftermarket set of seat covers for a 65 Falcon. What I am having a hard time finding is someone to do some bondo work and paint the car. If anyone out there knows of a good body man or shop around the Portland, OR or Yakima, WA area, please let me know.
As you probably know by the sound of it, this forum is mainly directed at the '71-'77 Comets that share he same body with the Maverick, though we do have a section for the earlier Comet's. I am sure everyone will be glad to help you out in any way possible. Sounds like a cool project.
