I am going to get 2 more Mavericks. One i a 1970 2dr 170 6cyl 3 speed on the tree. It was a project that was quit on. The body is in real good shape. There has already been a lot of work done to it. The only bad thing about this one is it is a basket case. The grill bumpers and lights and a lot of the interior have beed taken out but are still present. The 1971 2 dr has a bad 200 and no tranny was a C4. The rearend is out of it. It to has a ood body but the guy was working on it and let it roll into an oak tree. This tore up the front bumper, grill and the front spoiler. I am going to get these next week hopefully. All for the price of $600
I don't think I am going to be able to get these for a while. Some things came up and we are having to do work at my house so we can move the cars from my uncles to my house. I will probaly get them later this summer."dad want let me bring them home til this is done". I ain't really worried about hem getting sold because they have been in the same place for 5 years.
I would give the guy a deposite to hold the cars and leave your phone number with him. Tell him to give you a call first if anyone else becomes intrested in them.
I think I am just going to leave these were they are because the 1970 is a total basketcase. After some thinking I don't think there worth the $600.
Chances are they will still be there when your ready. Its not like there are people knocking on doors every day looking for Maverick stuff.
I think I might byt the 71 this weekend because he wanted $200 for it. Dad want let me get the other one. The basketcase one is actually a 69.5
I've got 15 cars (not all Mavericks though). At one time I had 38 (!!). Yes really! When I get thru stripping the last part's cars I'll end up with twelve. Unless of course I succumb to the temptation to buy an 80's Lincoln and Camaro that I have been wanting lately for the collection. When I had the 38 cars, 15 were Maverick/Comet's. When I'm thru, I'll have five Mavericks among the twelve (or maybe 14?) cars of the collection.
