Can some explain the deal 69.5 mavs. My vin says 70 but im not sure if 69.5's would be considered a 70 or not. The plastic owner card says 6-30-69 on it.

What info do i need to provide to tell.

    Thanks

That would make it a 69.5. Also will not have a locking steering wheel because of that. Most likely has a horn ring as well. The build date also indicates it is a 69.5.

    That is it.
So is that a bad thing. Ive read that upgrades to the spindles were made in 70... and anything else?

    Thanks for the info.

Besides the key location, I have found at least some of them to have a metal door tag instead of paper.
Seems to me that they (69.5's) have 1969 side markers.

theres lots of really small diffrences but the key spot is the most aparent

non-stagered rear shocks, smaller trans hump, slight diffrence in the front valence and i think a smaller ring gear are the only difrences i can think of right off my head. i think they all had 170's as well

'70's have non-stagered shocks, smaller trans tunnels and the 7.5 ring gear too, '71 was the year all that changed
