    got my driveshaft back today :bananaman...they retubed it with the tube sample on the left. the right one is the old tube...

    The tube on the right was a disaster waiting to happen ... Looks about as thick as a can of pork and beans ...

    When you use aluminum tube you have to increase its wall thickness by a factor of 3 to get the same torsional rigidity as a steel tube of the same O.D.That pic explains why ford has so many problems with its aluminum drive shafts.
