I "happened upon" a brand new long-block 5.0 that was put into an F-150, had a miss that they couldn't figure out, and took the engine out and stopped working on it. I am pretty sure it is roller cam, and it has almost no miles on it. Still has the warranty on it from O'Reilly (the block). Since I may have screwed mine up really bad with the cam lobe, the timing is right on this one and I might pick it up. Also, half the price of the cam kit I was looking at. How hard will it be to put my parts on this block and hook it up? I want to keep my intake, heads, etc. This has the converter still hooked up. What "stall" would it be compared to my current one? What compression ratio would it be? Could I run my stock P heads/springs with the 1.7 roller rockers on this cam? (I should, since I am pretty sure the heads came off a roller car) Anything else I should know?
its hard to say what the compression would be espically if you swap on a diffrent set of heads. i dont see whay most of the stuff you mentioned wouldnt be able to bolt on. you'll probably have to swap the pan and the timing cover depending if you want a mechanical fule pump(assuming that engine is EFI)
Ooops...pulled off the intake and it is NOT a roller, so I let it pass. I guess I could use the block if mine is shot.
