It's time to get the wipers working on this Mav.

So here's what I've got: Hit the wiper switch and I hear a hum. I think the motor's moving, but nothing else is. Passenger wiper is frozen in the middle of the windshield. Driver side moves wherever I want it to, 'cause it's loose. I can pull it completely out and the shaft it's attached to will come out with it. That shaft appears to have some damage on the end too. Stripped, maybe?

I suspect I'm going to need to replace at least part of this assembly. What's involved here? Dash pad needs to come off I guess? The whole dash? Or do I go under it?

    Thanks for your help!

Here is how a Maverick was assembled:

    1. The body shell was welded together

    2. Windshield wiper assembly was installed

    3. Rest of the car was assembled

Seriously....it can be quite a job as a lot of the interior has to be disassembled.

If you need a working wiper assembly (motor, inside arms, ect)....I can help you. Email me directly (see below) if I can help.

Alright cool... So it looks like I won't have any trouble getting the parts. I'm not sure what parts I need yet, though. Can anybody tell me what it takes to get to the wiper assembly so I can check it out? Or does this job suck so bad that I'm better off buying the whole rig so I don't have to dig into it twice?

It all unbolts from under the dash, but it is way up there near the top. Getting to it is the pain.

Wow. Well, looks like I have quite a project on my hands. Hopefully it's not too messed up under there...

    Thanks, guys.
