hey so i have a 5 lug 8inch from a 70 mustang in mind, but i looked up the length of that and it is

    67-70 Mustang 59.25 inches

so what does that mean for wheel fitment

im guessing i would want to run a wheel with like 6 inches backspacing (like maybe the new mustang bullit wheels) but then how would i make the front work?

    any ideas would be helpful

Just means your wheels will stick out about an inch further on each side. JUst buy wheels that have more backspacing to compensate.

    I have a 9" from a 70 Mustang in mine. 15X8 wheels with 6" of backspace.

You don't have to buy all the same size wheels. Originally all four of mine were 15X6. I wanted wider tires in the rear so I sent two of the wheels to Weldcraft Wheels in Michigan and they added two inches of backspace to each. Cost $100 apiece an less than $40 shipping there and back.

    70 rr swap

i have a 68 mustang rr that im thinking about swapping into my maverick....so 15x8 with 6" offset will work(what happens if i went with either 5.5 or 6.5 offset?) also what sixe tires are you running? did your leaf springs line right up with the mustang rear?

    any info would be appreciated

Tires are 255 60 15, they ended up about a 1/4" away from the leaf springs so I added a 1/4" spacer behind each wheel for more clearance. Leaf spring perches were within 1/4" each side, not enough to worry about.
