I just got back from a clothes shopping trip with my daughter. Dad's "What Not to Wear" type of thing
On the way home My tranny died
I have reverse and no forward. I got it parked at an apt building. 2 miles is a little too far to back home. I guess i call a tow guy and have it brought back home:(
Daughter BF is going to help me pull it Sunday.

A friend at work said he'df give me a C4. An AOD would be nice but a c4 is a lot easier swap. ...And since I've cahnged 1 clutch in my whole life, I think a free swap and a bolt in conversion is in my future. Any advise or info...like an AOD will bolt right in. etc would be appreciated

Send a PM to Frank (71gold), he is the "knower" of putting AOD's in these cars, and can sell you a crossmember to make it bolt in.

You'll have to get a different converter if you put an AOD in it.
It would be nice, but if you got another C4 ready to go... swap that bad boy in and be on your way

    Amen to that!!

My favorite saying I saw on the back of a 65 Coupe at the dragstrip...
" I would rather eat worms that drive an automatic! "

    A close second...
" I would rather push (start) a stick shift than coast in an automatic. "

And a larger diameter Flywheel/Flexplate as well, I believe the AOD has to have a 12" one.

Just out of curiosity whats so special about this mentioned crossmember?

Couldn't you just relocate a factory one?
