Yeah, it was a cool race to be at. Got to meet lots of Maverick guys and hang out with many new friends.

There were 9 Mavericks and 1 Comet, so it was a good turnout for the Mavs&Comets. I didn't get a picture of the Comet, but it was nice. Here are some pics of the Mavericks...

And a few more including my red junk...

BTW, the 73 MultiMaverick did really good in the HS ROC. I didn't get to meet him but I think I've seen him post on here before...Good Job.:thumbs2:

i really enjoyed meeting you erick. your car is definitely not a piece of junk. it was the nicest one there imo. the purple one in the first pic is chuck morrison who races out of tucson. he made it all the way down to 4 cars. i believe this is his first year of racing. the second car is matt hawk (badmav7086). the third car is mine. i never met the white cars owner. the orange one is matt bong (mbong). the multi colored one is a high school student who races out of firebird in phoenix. and if anyone is interested i only blew one tire on the trailer coming home.:)

It was great meeting you too Don. I met every Mav/Comet owner except the Silver one, multi colored one, purple one, and blue Comet. It was cool hearing the announcer mentioning the Maverick all the time.

Don, I blew out 3 tires on the Motorhome my last trip to Vegas when it was 115 degrees out. This time I only blew out one of the trailer wheel bearings, but still made it home OK. It's always something.

P.S. Thanks for the compliment on my car. I really liked all of the Mavericks and yours is especially clean.

A nice showing of Mavericks and great pics...couldn't help but notice the 10.94 dial on Ericks car....SWEET...looks like they had you guys packed in there like sardines.
Don I can relate...by hook or crook I made it the finals this weekend and managed an -.004 redlight...making matters worse my opponent cuts a god awful light and breaks out and I ran dead on....pfffft.

Erick it was great meeting you. the weekend was pretty good and yes the 73 multi color maverick did do really good in the roc. he runnered up. i red lit to him in the semis by .010 in our explorer that i cant redlight if i try at home in. my lights before that on saturday were .000, .001, -.021, .021, -.010. i ended up with a competition bye in the first round and carried the potential bye to second round where i got to use it. i got all the way to third round without racing any body. we had a great time but broke some parts on both of my parents dragsters so we have quite a bit of work to do in the next couple of weeks. oh yeah and that silver maverick broke something right through the lights on sunday in second round of sportsman so he probably isn't too happy since it looks like he was trying to sell it.

it was good meeting all of you guys out there...the turn out of the mavs was awesome never seen so many at one time before. it was extremely disappointing for me when i could not bring my Maverick do to transmission problems....but lucky for me my friend let me borrow his ten second dodge dart that we had to slow down to the 12's so i could race in high school and sportsman. it was difficult for me to adjust to the power of the car and red lite first round high school roc to the 73' ford maverick.....i then made it through one round of sportsman before i red lite again, but i had a great weekend and was real excited after making it through four rounds of the gambler races. i couldnt wait to get my mav running again after seeing many of your guys great cars...... thanks for all the info you guys shared with me and sorry don when i ran away from ya didnt realize the lines were moving
