I can grab the rod on top of the steering column and move it to any position as well.

If I can get the wiring sorted out, I can just secure that rod in the on position to prevent and surprises.

 

I believe I'd just get another column. Ought to be able to pick one up for $50 or less....

 

That is boring Plus I already have the switch panel.
