liike to see what his reaction times were. definitely quick though to run in the 9's. wonder if he was legal??
For the amount of money someone has in that car, it better be fast. Of course, money is no object to some, I know a guy who owns two of them (he special ordered one, and didn't want to wait for it to come in, so he went ahead and bought the one on the showroom floor on the spot, too).
I'm no expert on racing but it lookes like he looses time through the shifts and maybe he needed an additional gear...bad azz though
. Just think what that car could do if you could order it with manual windows, sound deadener delete, no AC, no 300 lb stereo system, manual steering and brakes. If you could get the weight down to a respectable level that would be a supercar. It is awesome in its own right, but I have a hard time getting excited over a car that weighs nearly two tons. The last specs I saw on the GT500, it weighed in at almost 4100 lbs. I cant see it myself, since my old `71 Torino back in the day only weighed 3900. They seriously need to put that thing on a diet. If they offered that package the way the original Shelby Mustang was (pretty much a stripper model with killer motor and fancy stripes) they would sell them faster than they could make them. Speaking for myself, I cannot see paying as much as $25000 over the sticker(close to $45000) for a Mustang. It came down a production line, it is not handbuilt. 500+ hp or not, you can build a hella car for 1/3 of that. Besides, all that seem to own those cars are rich people who are searching for image, not real performance people. The guy in this video must be the exceptio rather than the rule. Sorry for the rant, just disappointed with the new car industry as a whole. Yeah, I fully expect the new Challenger and Camaro to be more of the same: high prices, high profile image cars. Give me a 50's, 60's or `70's car any day.
New Challenger with the new big Hemi, a 6 speed with a steep posi and NOTHING ELSE. That would be sweet. I hate Plymouth went under before they could do the resto thing with the Road Runner nameplate. A stripped down 2 door with their largest mill. Nice. Doesn't Ford have a stripped version of their Mustang? Can't you special order these Shelbys with no options except drivetrain? Thats the point of a Shelby I thought, no frills and too much speed.
does he need stiffer shocks in the front to keep it from bouncing like that when he shifts? anyways, that **** was fast.. running it to the revlimiter right as he crosses the finish..
That used to be what Shelby was about, now it's all about the money. That car is fast, and very cool, but c'mon..$65000 for a Mustang? I don't think so. To be honest, I would only give 65K for a whole truckload of them because I know that I could sell each of them for 55k before they got off the truck. I agree about Plymouth. But if the new Road Runner would have been anything like the Charger(4 doors), maybe it's a good thing they let it die with dignity and good memories. I guess it all boils down to the fact that I am just not that much of a fan of late model cars.Too much "me too" factor to be cool to me. Just my .02
